Social prescribing connects people
to non-medical support to address
issues that are negatively
impacting their health and
wellbeing. Social Prescribers or
Social Prescribing Link Workers
work with individuals to help
change the circumstances that can
make people unwell, and work
with individuals to empower them
to improve and manage their
health and wellbeing.
Gary Sainty, Head of VCSE
highlighted the power of social
prescribing in a blog published as
part of the day. In the blog, Gary
talks about shedding light on the
transformative impact of social
prescribing across our region, and
on the nearly 100 Social
Prescribing Link Workers who
make a tangible difference each
day to the lives of the people they
work with.
